How credits work
Usage runs on one universal credit balance. Bigger inputs need more compute and use more credits; small ones use fewer.
Every new account gets 100 credits. No card needed.
One balance covers every MCPBytes tool, including future ones.
A job is charged by the size of its input, once the file has been measured. A job that fails costs nothing.

100 credits when you sign up, for every MCPBytes tool, over MCP and the REST API. Sign in to the console with GitHub or email and create an API key; no card is required. The credits last 12 months.
A job's price follows the size of its input, so it is charged once the file has been opened and measured, before the work starts. The job then shows credits_charged. A job that fails costs nothing: its charge goes back to your balance.
The API answers 402 with the error code insufficient_credits, and the message says what the job costs and what you have. Nothing is ever charged to a card for usage: add credits in the console, under Billing, with a credit pack or a monthly bundle.
One job at a time, uploads up to 50 MB, and each tool's size limit. Beyond them the API answers 429 (too_many_active_jobs, with a Retry-After header) or 413. If the service itself is at capacity, it answers 503 with busy.
24 hours. Download the files you need before then. You can delete a finished job and its files sooner with DELETE /v1/jobs/{id}.
Sign-up credits and credit packs last 12 months. Credits from a monthly bundle roll over for one extra month. Credits that expire first are always spent first.
No. Credit packs are one-time purchases, used as you go. Monthly credit bundles are there for steady use: they cost less per credit, raise the account limits, renew every month until you cancel, and are canceled in the console in a few clicks. There is no unlimited plan.
