Guide
Credits & prices
How jobs are charged, when failed jobs are refunded, and every tool's price.
Your balance
Jobs are paid with prepaid credits, and one balance pays for every tool. A new account starts with 300 free credits. GET /v1/me returns your balance (credits), GET /v1/tools every tool's price (pricing), and GET /v1/billing where your credits went. Over MCP, every tool's description states its price.
When jobs are charged
Prices by input size (faces, pages) are charged once the input has been opened and measured; starting such a job needs the tool's smallest price. Fixed prices, and prices that depend on an option such as quality, use the selected settings and are charged before paid processing starts. A job needs its price in the balance, or it fails with 402 insufficient_credits.
The job shows what it cost in credits_charged. A job that fails costs nothing: its charge goes back, and credits_charged reads 0 once refunded. A canceled long-running job is refunded too.

Buying credits
Buy one-time credit packs or a monthly credit bundle in the console. The pricing page lists them. Only the account's owner can add credits: an agent that runs out should say so.
